Macuco Nature Trail
Macuco trail is perhaps the best opportunity offered by the park to experience nature. Get ready for your walk. Read some of the things you bear in mind before starting out.


Remember that the forest is the result of millions of years of evolutionary adaptation so it is best to adapt to nature and not expect nature to adapt you.

7000m out and back.
Estimated time of your walk:
3 hours
Final destination:
Arrechea stream's waterfall and pool
Opening hours:
Winter/ Summer 8am to 6:00pm.
Do not take the trail after 3pm.
Do not stay in the natural pool after 4pm. So as to return with the day light.
Recommended schedule:
Early morning is best. Remember that the park closes at 6pm.
Bear in mind the following suggestions and you will be helping us protect the protect the park.
You should be aware that: The trail has neither bathrooms nor bars; take insect repellent. Wear
comfortable clothes and footwear, a hat and sun block. If you have
small children with you or senior citizens, think about the
inconvenience of doing longish trail.
Heed the recommendation on the signs, brochures and the National Park's personnel.
Never leave the trail.
Avoid making any noise. This will increase your chances of seeing and hearing wildlife.
Respect the animals, never feed or trouble them.
Enjoy the flora and fauna in their natural setting. If you want some memento there is nothing better than a photograph.
Just as animals do, leave only your track; do not remove stones, plant material. If possible bring your trash out with you.
Any comments will be welcome. Leave them with a ranger or at the information desk.
