Geographical Location

Iguazú Falls are located within the Iguazú National Park, a protected area extending over 67,720 hectares (167.34 acres) on the Northern border of the Province of Misiones, Republic of Argentina.

The Park comprises a series of 275 waterfalls at the heart of the Paranaense Rainforest,  located 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) from the Iguazú River mouth into the Paraná River, where the Argentine, Brazil and Paraguay borders meet, and where the cities of Puerto Rico (Argentina) and Foz do Iguaçú (Brazil) are.

Among other important nearby cities are Ciudad del Este (Paraguay), 25 kilometers away (15.5 miles), and the city of Posadas (Capital of the Province of Misiones), 300 kilometers away (186 miles).

From Argentina: at Cataratas International Airport, 7 kilometers (4 miles) away from the Cataratas Area and 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Puerto Iguazú, there are regional flights from and to Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba and Salta.

Arriving from land.

From Argentina:
National Route 12 from Posadas along the border of the Paraná River, across the main Misioneras cities.
National Route 14, along the Uruguay River, up to the city of Bernando de Irigoyen, and from here on National Route 101.

From Brazil and Paraguay:
Tancredo Neves International Bridge, joining the city of Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and the city of Foz do Iguaçú (Brazil). The latter is also joined to Ciudad del Este by Puente de la Amistad bridge.

Puerto Iguazú Bus Station.
It is located downtown, 20 minutes from Iguazú Falls and 8 minutes from Tancredo Neves International Bridge, joining Argentina and Brazil. This is the place of arrival and departure of tourist from any part of the country, where buses with daily services to Iguazú Falls at the Brazilian side, and Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.
There is a public passenger transport from the city of Puerto Iguazú to Iguazú National Park every 15 minutes, whose itinerary begins at Hito de las Tres Fronteras, passing by Puerto Iguazú bus station, and buses arrive at Cataratas Area in 20 minutes.
The bus service is provided by the company Río Uruguay and people can identify it by the sign reading "Cataratas".
